There are many ways to get involved

As you may have gleaned from information on this website, the Polish Heritage Society of Edmonton (PHSE) is building a new hub to support community activities in Edmonton and area. PHSE is taking leadership in creating a sustainable carbon free future by constructing a zero carbon building. We are not just putting up a structure of glass and steel, we are building community to enable a greater understanding between generations, recognize and honour builders of Polonia, and create a gathering place for adults, children and youth to learn, grow, meet new friends, and make new memories in a safe and stimulating environment. This facility will support various activities including, Saturday language schools, scouting, folk-dance groups and non-profit organizations. We will also have a museum, archives, a restaurant and a library. We will work with diverse groups in the community in order to support their organizational needs.

In addition to our own organizational funds, we have been able to secure a $100,000 grant from Ecotrust Alberta Foundation to build an electric kitchen. We have also applied for a $11.2 million grant from the Federal Green and Inclusive Community Building Program and applied for a $150,000 grant from the Co-op Community Spaces Program. Results of these competitions should be announced by late spring 2023.
